That's why we strive to make our services accessible to everyone, offering a sliding fee scale based on income. Our passionate team of veterinarian professionals is dedicated to ensuring the optimal health and well-being of each animal that walks through our doors. From routine checkups and vaccinations to complex surgical procedures, we provide comprehensive care tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

The Shelter: Our shelter provides a safe and nurturing environment for animals who have been rescued from abusive or neglectful situations. Upon arrival, each animal receives a thorough veterinary examination, necessary vaccinations, and compassionate care. Our staff works diligently to assess each animal's personality and needs, matching them with suitable adoptive families who can provide them with a loving forever home.

Humane Investigations: Our dedicated humane agent diligently investigates reports of animal abuse and neglect across Mahoning County. HISTORY OF ANIMAL CHARITY OF OHIO

Our organization's journey began in 1963 with the unwavering dedication of Dr. Jean Kelty and Perc Kelty. Their passion for animal welfare led them to open a humble shelter out of their garage, rescuing dozens of animals in need. This initial act of compassion ignited a spark that has grown into a beacon of hope for animals in Mahoning County.

Over the past six decades, Animal Charity of Ohio has evolved into a comprehensive organization with two established facilities dedicated to providing a wide range of services. Through the years, we have expanded our capabilities, adding a full-service veterinary clinic and enhancing our humane investigation division to better serve the community.
