At Scrubby Puppy, we are passionate about providing a welcoming and professional environment for dogs and their owners. Our goal is to provide a range of services that cater to the unique needs of each dog, from self-wash stations to full-service grooming, nail trimming, and even veterinary-supervised teeth cleaning.
Our Services
Our services are designed to meet the individual needs of each dog, taking into account factors such as size, age, health, length, thickness, and condition of coat, as well as temperament. We understand that every dog is unique, and we are committed to providing personalized attention and care to ensure that each dog feels comfortable and relaxed during their visit.
- Self-Wash Stations: Our self-wash stations offer a convenient and cost-effective way for dog owners to give their pets a bath in our raised tubs. Each station is equipped with a choice of three hypo-allergenic, tearless shampoos, and our friendly staff are always on hand to provide tips and guidance to help you achieve the best results.
- Full-Service Grooming: If you prefer a more luxurious grooming experience, our full-service grooming package includes a comprehensive bath, haircut, and styling session. Our experienced groomers will work with you to create a customized look that suits your dog's unique personality and needs.
- Nail Trimming and External Anal Gland Expression: We understand the importance of regular nail trimming and anal gland expression for your dog's health and comfort. Our experienced staff will work with you to schedule appointments for these important services.
- Retail: Our retail section offers a range of products, including cookies and treats, CBD products, salmon oil, and specialty shampoos.
- Veterinary-Supervised Teeth Cleaning: For dog owners who want to provide their pets with the best possible dental care, our veterinary-supervised teeth cleaning service offers a safe and effective way to clean your dog's teeth and prevent dental problems.
Tips for Using the Self-Wash Stations
- Do not get your dog wet first. Our shampoos are pre-diluted, so it's more efficient and effective to pour a diluted, soapy mixture into the dry coat than to saturate the hair/fur with water and then attempt to use a palmful of concentrated shampoo to create lather from nose to tail.
- Use lots of shampoo. Unless you have a tiny, short-haired dog, you will use bottles of shampoo, not just portions of a bottle. Most short-haired dogs will need at least two to four or five bottles of shampoo, while most longer-haired dogs will need at least three or four bottles and may require as many as six or eight (or even more) if you have a really large, hairy, dirty, shedding beast.
- Do not remove the hair strainer from the tub drain. As you rinse your dog off, shedding hair will fill the hair trap inserted in the drain of the tub. Simply remove the hair from the trap while leaving it in the drain and dispose of it in the small garbage can provided.
- Wash your dog twice. One bath gets the majority of dirt and gunk and grit and stink out of the coat, but a second bath makes a huge difference in cleanliness and stench, or lack thereof. If your dog is really a dirty, stinky, shedding beast, wash a third time if necessary.
