Our Story

Pink Dog Parlor and Resort was born from a lifelong passion for animals and a dedication to providing the highest quality care for our furry friends. Our journey began in 1980 when Michelle Kennedy, the founder, brought home her first Siberian Husky. This sparked a love for dogs that soon blossomed into a career. After several years dedicated to obedience training, Michelle discovered her true calling in pet grooming.

In 1988, she opened her first salon with a business partner, laying the foundation for what would become Pink Dog Parlor and Resort. Michelle's vision was always to create a space where pets felt pampered and valued. In 2002, Michelle made the decision to prioritize her family, stepping away from the salon to focus on raising her newborn and working in youth ministry. But the love for grooming never faded.

Three years later, Michelle began grooming from her home, her passion reignited. Recognizing a lack of educational opportunities for aspiring pet stylists in her area, she decided to open a school in 2007. This expansion necessitated several moves as the business outgrew each location, highlighting the growing enthusiasm and demand for quality pet care.

Finally, in 2015, Pink Dog Parlor and Resort found its permanent home at 662 Plank Road. This expansive space allowed us to expand our services to include boarding and daycare for small dogs.
