Our Story

Our journey began over 30 years ago, when our founder, Laurie C. Williams, first started training dogs in Virginia. With a lifelong passion for canines, Laurie has spent over 35 years honing her skills in dog training, behavior modification, and general pet care. As one of the first dog trainers in Virginia to be certified by the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT), Laurie has built a reputation for her expertise in positive, science-based training methods.

At Pup 'N Iron, our mission is to empower dog owners with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to develop strong, Loving relationships with their canine companions. We believe that every dog deserves to live a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life, and we are committed to helping make that a reality.

Our Services

Our range of services includes:

• Flexible Training Program: Our unique program allows participants to attend in-person training classes up to three times a week, with continuous enrollment and flexible scheduling to accommodate your busy lifestyle.
• Puppy Classes: Designed specifically for puppies, our classes focus on socialization, obedience, and communication skills to set the foundation for a lifelong bond between dog and owner.
• Control Unleashed Behavior Consultations: Our expert trainers work with you and your dog to address behavioral issues, such as reactivity, fear, and anxiety.
• Virtual Learning Academy: Take advantage of our online training programs, designed to fit your schedule and learning style.
• Rally Obedience Coaching: Our instructors are certified AKC Rally Obedience Judges, providing expert guidance and training for dogs of all levels.
• Canine Enrichment Programs: We offer a variety of enrichment activities, including puppy socialization, agility, and more.

Our 5600 square foot, climate-controlled facility is designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and stimulating environment for dogs of all ages and breeds. With fully padded sports rubber flooring, the most innovative dog obedience and sports classes, and a focus on positive, dog-friendly training methods, we offer a unique and enjoyable experience for dogs and their owners.
