At Bideawee, we are dedicated to creating and strengthening the human-animal bond through best-in-class lifesaving and compassionate care for pets and the people who love them. Our mission is to find loving homes for rescued animals since 1903, and we take pride in being a leader in rescuing dogs and cats and successfully integrating them into loving homes.

Our History

Bideawee's founder, Mrs. Flora D'Auby Jenkins Kibbe, transplanted the idea of a "no Kill" shelter to New York City and by the end of 1903, she was operating a similar program out of a small building near her home in Manhattan. She called it Bide-A-Wee Home Association. Today, Bideawee is a 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving the greater New York City area for over a century.
