Expert Dog Aqua Therapy & Wellness Services
Founded in 2000, the Canine Fitness Center was established to address a critical need for canine aqua-therapy after our own dog Shadow required post-surgical rehabilitation. Recognizing the absence of specialized facilities within a 50-mile radius, we created a state-of-the-art center dedicated to enhancing canine health through swimming, acupuncture, and massage therapies. Our team combines decades of hands-on experience with a deep understanding of animal physiology to deliver tailored solutions for pets recovering from injuries, managing chronic conditions, or preparing for water rescue certifications.

We maintain rigorous ethical standards in handling client information and prioritize personalized care, ensuring every pet receives attention aligned with their unique health goals. Our facilities and methodologies reflect continuous investment in advanced veterinary wellness practices.

Services
Canine Aqua Exercise
Aqua-exercise therapy helps dogs recover from surgery by improving joint mobility and muscle tone through controlled swimming sessions. This non-impact rehabilitation method accelerates return to pre-injury fitness levels while minimizing discomfort. Ideal for post-operative care and chronic mobility issues.
Canine Acupuncture
Traditional acupuncture treatments target specific points to alleviate pain and stimulate healing in dogs. Based on ancient techniques adapted for animal anatomy, this therapy addresses musculoskeletal issues and chronic conditions. Sessions follow established veterinary medical protocols for optimal effectiveness.
Canine Massage
Therapeutic massage sessions enhance circulation and muscle recovery while addressing behavioral issues related to anxiety in dogs. Our techniques combine physical rehabilitation with stress reduction benefits. Regular sessions help maintain mobility and prevent injuries in active animals.
Questions
What vaccination records are required for services?
We require proof of Rabies (every 3 years), Distemper (every 3 years), and Bordetella (annual) vaccinations for all canine clients.
Do you accept titer test results instead of vaccinations?
Titer testing is not generally accepted. We follow AAHA guidelines requiring Distemper vaccination unless specific medical exemptions apply with documented vet approval.
What are your seasonal operating hours?
October-May: Tues/Thurs 9AM-8PM, Wed/Fri 9AM-4PM, Sat 8:30AM-5PM. June-September: Tues/Thurs 9AM-8PM, Fri 9AM-4PM, Sat 8:30AM-5PM.
How does aqua-therapy benefit post-surgical recovery?
Controlled swimming sessions help dogs regain joint mobility, rebuild muscle strength, and return to normal activity levels without weight-bearing stress during recovery.
