Thoughtful Paws Pet Care is a professional pet sitting service that provides top-notch care to cats and small animals in your home. We understand how stressful it can be to leave your pets behind when you travel, which is why we are committed to giving you peace of mind knowing that your pets are happy and content while you are away.

At Thoughtful Paws Pet Care, we take our responsibility seriously, which is why we are fully insured and bonded through Pet Sitters Associates. We believe that being a bonded and insured pet sitter is vital to providing our clients with the highest level of service and security.
Our Story
Thoughtful Paws Pet Care was born out of a love of caring for pets. Our founder, Jess, started taking care of her friends' pets and realized that pet care was very important to her. After volunteering at shelters and taking care of her friends' pets, she opened Thoughtful Paws in the summer of 2012. Since then, we have serviced over 400 clients in Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington, Burlington, parts of Belmont, and Dorchester.

At Thoughtful Paws Pet Care, we are very focused on making sure that your pets are in good hands. Our team is filled with animal lovers, and we are all very passionate about what we do. We strive to provide the best service possible to your furry family members! Our team is always growing, but we always inform you ahead of time who will be coming by to take care of your fur baby. We try our best to keep it consistent, but that may not always be possible.
Meet Our Team
Jess - Owner and Founder
Jess is the owner and founder of Thoughtful Paws Pet Care. She started the business out of a love of caring for cats and dogs. Jess has a passion for animals that started in childhood, and she has been taking care of pets ever since. She has five cats of her own and has experience administering meds to cats, including pills, insulin shots, liquid medications, and SubQ fluids.
Devin - Full-Time Cat Sitter
Devin has been with Thoughtful Paws Pet Care since 2012 and is a full-time cat sitter. He is a huge animal lover and is passionate about animal welfare. Devin has five cats of his own, and they are all rescues from his neighborhood. He has experience administering meds, including insulin shots, pills, and liquid medications.
Our Services
At Thoughtful Paws Pet Care, we specialize in cat sitting and small animal pet sitting. We currently do not offer any dog walking/boarding/overnight services as we focus on cats and small animals. Our service area includes Somerville, Cambridge, West Medford, Arlington, Burlington, parts of Belmont, and Dorchester.
We are proud to offer the following services:
- Cat sitting
- Small animal pet sitting (guinea pigs, rabbits, etc.)
- Medication administration, including pills, injections, SubQ fluids, and liquid medication
- House plant (indoor) watering
- Extra services available upon request
For new clients, we will schedule an initial meeting to gather information about your pet. We need at least one to two week's notice to schedule the initial meeting. We may not be able to take last-minute requests. At that time, we will also pick up your house key which will be number coded and secured in a lockbox. We highly recommend that you keep a key on file with us.
We check in with you after our visits via email or text. Photos are also included when we can get a good picture!
Our Rates
Cat Sitting - $28 per day for 1 visit, $56 per day for 2 visits
Small Pets - $28 per day for 1 visit, $56 per day for 2 visits
There is an additional charge of $3 per animal for any pets over 3 pets. There is a $5 additional charge any medication administration.
The initial client meet n' greet and existing client refresher visit is $10.
Extra Services - House plant (indoor) watering! - $8
