About Us

We are Roger and Susan Thicke, a husband and wife team who have dedicated our lives to working with animals. Our journey began as volunteers for a local rescue, where we fostered dogs of all shapes and sizes. With over 80 years of combined experience in animal care, we decided to create a sanctuary where pets could feel safe, loved, and cared for.

Our experiences have been diverse and extensive. Roger grew up on an organic dairy farm, surrounded by chickens, rabbits, pigs, cows, horses, dogs, and cats. Susan, on the other hand, grew up with dogs and has a special bond with them. Our shared passion for animals led us to create Friendly Paws Pet Care, a place where pets can feel at home.

Our Services

At Friendly Paws Pet Care, we offer a variety of services designed to cater to the unique needs of your pets. Our services include Day Care and Overnight Boarding, available 365 days a year. We understand that pets require attention and care around the clock, which is why we are open 24 hours a day.

Our Day Care service allows your pets to socialize with other animals and receive the exercise and stimulation they need to stay happy and healthy. Our Overnight Boarding service provides a comfortable and safe environment for your pets to rest and relax while you are away. We ensure that they receive the same love and care that they would at home, and we are always available to address their needs as they arise.

Our Facilities

Our pet care center is located within our home north of La Crescent, MN. For over 13 years, our home has been a safe haven for rescued animals to heal and find new homes through adoption. We have created a warm and welcoming environment for your pets, complete with comfortable living spaces and outdoor areas for exercise and play.
