Paws Awhile Pet Motel is one of Northern Virginia's premier full-service pet care facilities, providing exceptional boarding, daycare, grooming, and training services for dogs, cats, and other small animals. Established in 1998 by two Orthodox Christian nuns, Mother Eirene and Mother Raphaela, the motel has been a haven for pets whose owners need a trustworthy and loving place for their fur babies. Our mission is to offer the utmost in compassionate, top-quality care for each pet entrusted to us, treating them with the same love and attention we would give to our own pets.

Our Story

Paws Awhile Pet Motel was born out of Mother Eirene and Mother Raphaela's special calling for giving love to all the pets in their care. With a combined experience of over 30 years in pet care, the Sisters have built a reputation for providing exceptional care and attention to every dog and cat who stays at Paws Awhile. Together with a dedicated team of professionals, they have transformed the property into a 24-acre retreat for pets to enjoy and thrive.

Boarding, Daycare, and Grooming Services

1. Boarding and Long-term Boarding: We offer clean, safe, and comfortable enclosures with climate-controlled luxury suites, bedding (if permitted), and large indoor playrooms. We also have three spacious outdoor play yards, and our guests enjoy custom-tailored activities and small hand-picked playgroups.

2. Doggie Daycare: Our doggie daycare program is perfect for pet owners who need a safe and fun place for their dogs to stay while they're at work or running errands. We offer off-leash playtime, field walks, brain games, and snuggle time in a relaxing, park-like setting.

3. Grooming: Our grooming services include bathing, brushing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning, leaving your pet looking and feeling their best. Our team of experienced groomers uses gentle techniques and high-quality products to ensure your pet's comfort and safety.

4. Training: We offer training programs tailored to each pet's unique needs and personality, focusing on positive reinforcement and reward-based training methods.

5. Pet Limousine Service, Food & Bedding: Our pet limousine service is available for pick-up and drop-off, ensuring a stress-free and comfortable experience for your pet. We also provide food and bedding for our guests if needed.
