Our facility is the largest all-inclusive pet care facility and show event center in the country, boasting an indoor space of over 32,000 square feet situated on 32 acres of land. We strive to offer a comprehensive range of services that cater to the needs of both professional and non-professional dog owners.

Our History

American K9 Country was founded in March 2003 by Celeste Meade Maurer, who had a vision to create a facility that would meet the high standards of excellence she wanted for her own pets. The facility is fully family-owned, with Celeste, her daughter Amber, and her sister and brother-in-law Dottie and Robert Proulx all playing key roles. Celeste's background as a professional dog trainer has been instrumental in shaping the facility's services and philosophy, which is centered around providing the best possible care for pets and their owners.

Meet Our Founder

Celeste Meade Maurer is not only one of the owners but also the driving force behind the facility. With over 30 years of experience as a professional dog trainer, Celeste has achieved numerous titles in Conformation, Sheep Herding, and Tracking, earning her numerous #1 national rankings in Obedience. She is particularly proud of her students' successes, who have earned over 30 perfect "200" Obedience scores and over 500 High In Trials. Celeste's training philosophy emphasizes "Attitude is Everything" and Aerobic Handling Techniques, which has been instrumental in shaping the training programs offered at American K9 Country.
