Experience the Personal Touch of Compassionate Pet Care
Suburban Paws has been providing pet sitting services to Long Island families since 2003. The complete list of services include pet sitting, dog walking, dog training, and more. Our experience with animals spans over many years, including animal rescue, shelter work, education, grooming, and training. We are always growing and learning from animals and the humans who love them. Suburban Paws is an owner-run and operated pet care company. All services are provided personally and only by the owner, Rebecca. This means your pets will always get very personal care from the same person who knows and understands your and your pets' unique needs.
Rebecca feels that a good relationship with humans and animals is important in order to provide comfort and security to clients and their pets. This is the personal touch that makes clients and their pets feel like family, and that clients have relied on for years. Avoid the stress of worry and imposing on friends and family. You can be comfortable knowing the same sitter will always be caring for your pets and you can count on compassion, experience, and reliability.
Rebecca is affiliated with various professional groups, a shelter and rescue volunteer, honored for outstanding animal volunteer work, certified in Pet First Aid and CPR, and a graduate of Animal Behavior College. She has the experience and compassion your pets deserve. While you are traveling, working, or have other obligations that leave your pet in need of someone to care for them, Suburban Paws provides care in your absence for your beloved companions with a very personal and loving touch.
Our Philosophy
We believe in training philosophy that embraces positive rewards-based methods, avoids aversive, harsh methods, and makes training fun for you and your pets. We share the pet care experience with you! We send photos and updates while you are away from your pet. We know how much your pet means to you!
About the Owner
I've always loved animals. I can't remember a time when I didn't want to be surrounded by them. Though they've always been my passion, I didn't start my pet care career until later in life. I've worked with animals in some capacity at different points in my life. As a college student, I worked in a grooming shop, and later in life, I joined animal awareness groups and became involved in animal rescue. I've worked with, volunteered for, and assisted many different organizations, including Bideawee, Adopt-A-Buddy Pug Rescue, Small Animal Rescue, Waggytail Rescue & Adoption NYC, Freeport Animal Shelter, Bobbi & The Strays, Kittynap Rescue & Adoption, helped with behavior consults for Curly Tail Pug Rescue, and for several years independently ran the organization Paws For Rescue. I obtained my Master's degree in 1999 in Audiology and worked in the medical field before pursuing my true passion for animal care.
