Our approach to dog training is centered around the philosophy of Show, Teach, Train. We understand that each dog is unique and learns at its own pace. Therefore, we provide various types of dog training services, including Obedience Training for non-hunting dogs, Basic Retriever Training, Advanced Gun Dog Training, and Continuance of Advanced/Hunt Test Competition.

Our facility is located in the countryside, west of Crockett, TX. Although we are based in a rural area, we welcome dogs from various urban areas including Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Austin, Waco, Tyler, Nacogdoches, Lufkin, and all the regions in between. Our facility is designed to provide a comfortable and conducive environment for your dog to learn and grow.

Our trainer, Matt Larkin, has been training dogs since 1995. He started his career by apprenticing for another trainer for many years before purchasing Cross Creek Kennel in 1995. Over the years, he has trained many different dog breeds and has extensive experience in breeding Labrador Retrievers.

We specialize in training all retriever breeds for retriever training and offer pet obedience training for medium to large breed dogs. We recognize the unique characteristics inherent in each breed and implement our tailored training philosophy, resulting in remarkable success.

At Cross Creek Kennel, we are a smaller facility, which allows us to maintain a high level of quality and attention for each dog. We typically have 20 to 25 dogs in training at any given time, ensuring that your dog receives the quality time and attention they deserve.

Our breeding program is designed to provide you with your next hunting partner, hunt test competition dog, or family pet. We have been breeding Labrador Retrievers for as long as we have been training hunting dogs. Our Labrador Retriever puppies are versatile in all aspects and go to all types of homes.

We understand that each breed is different and each dog learns differently. Therefore, we train at your dog's pace and take the time to make sure they understand the training and what we are asking.
