Our experienced team of trainers has a combined total of over 20 years of experience in training and handling dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments. Our mission is to help dogs become well-behaved members of their families, and we believe that every dog, regardless of its breed or temperament, has the potential to become a beloved and well-adjusted pet.
Our Team
Our team is led by Cary Petersen, our head trainer and owner of For A Civilized Dog. Cary has over 20 years of experience in training and handling dogs and has a passion for behavior modification and problem-solving. Under his guidance, our training programs are designed to be tailored to the unique needs and personalities of our clients and their dogs.
In addition to Cary, our team includes Dannielle Seman, a trainer who joined us in 2018. Dannielle brings with her extensive experience in pet sitting, dog walking, and service dog training. She is skilled in working with dogs of all ages and breeds and is passionate about helping dogs become well-behaved members of their families.
We also have Jaclyn Petersen, our operations manager and scheduling coordinator. Jaclyn has a background in the veterinary field and is responsible for managing our scheduling, consultations, and client relations.
Our Programs
At For A Civilized Dog, we offer a range of training programs designed to meet the unique needs and goals of our clients and their dogs. Whether you're looking to teach basic obedience, modify aggressive behavior, or simply become a better pet owner, we have a program that's right for you.
Private Instruction
Our private instruction program is designed for dogs that require one-on-one attention and training. Our trainers will work with you and your dog to teach basic obedience, behavior modification skills, and tricks in the comfort of your own home or at our training location near John Wayne Airport.
Board & Train
Our board & train program is designed for dogs that require a more intensive training experience. Our 13,000 sq ft indoor/outdoor training facility offers a fun and engaging environment for our canine clients. Our basic board & train program consists of a 21-day stay during which we work on the foundations of basic obedience, general manners, and more.
Free Consultation
At For A Civilized Dog, we believe that every dog is unique and that every owner has their own set of goals and aspirations when it comes to their dog's training. That's why we offer a free consultation to every new client. During this consultation, we'll work with you to assess your dog's behavior, identify areas that require improvement, and develop a personalized training plan that meets your unique needs and goals.
