Animal Shelter
Our state-certified animal shelter provides temporary housing and medical care for homeless pets. With 28 dog kennels, 110 cat accommodations, and specialized meet-and-greet rooms, we ensure animals receive proper socialization and veterinary attention while awaiting adoption. The facility includes climate-controlled spaces and outdoor runs for canine exercise. All shelter animals receive vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter services before adoption.
Trap-Neuter-Return Program
This community cat management initiative humanely traps, sterilizes, vaccinates, and returns outdoor cats to their habitats. Launched in 2024 with dedicated funding, the program reduces feral cat populations through ethical methods while maintaining ecosystem balance. We provide traps, coordinate veterinary services, and offer caregiver resources to support sustainable community cat stewardship in six Iowa counties.
Adoption Services
We facilitate responsible pet adoptions with comprehensive screening and counseling. Our process includes behavioral assessments, medical records review, and post-adoption support. Adoptable animals receive complete wellness checks, vaccinations, and spay/neuter procedures. The adoption fee covers initial medical care, microchipping, and a starter supply kit to ensure smooth transitions to permanent homes.
Foster Care Program
This volunteer network provides temporary homes for animals requiring special care. Foster caregivers assist with socialization, medical recovery, and behavioral training for pets not yet ready for adoption. The program supports bottle-feeding kittens, senior pet care, and rehabilitation for animals with medical conditions, increasing successful adoption rates through personalized attention.
Community Outreach
Our outreach van delivers interactive pet therapy to care facilities through scheduled visits. Over 450 sessions have connected shelter animals with community members, promoting mental wellness and social engagement.
