Dog Boarding

At Sweet Wind Kennel, we understand that leaving your furry friend behind can be tough. That's why we strive to make your dog's stay with us as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Our indoor, heated facility offers individualized attention, exercise, and care for your dog. With twice-daily walks on leash and a roomy space to stay in, your dog will love a trip to Sweet Wind Kennel.

Dog Training

In addition to our boarding services, we also offer professional training classes during the summer months. Our experienced trainers provide personalized instruction in Basic Obedience and Agility, helping you and your pooch build a stronger bond and better communication.

SW Dogs

Our kennel has a rich history in sled dog training, racing, and border collie agility trials. We take pride in the dogs - and humans - that make Sweet Wind Kennel a success. Learn more about our dogs and the achievements of our trainers and handlers.

A Note from the Owner

Hi! I'm Beth Chapman, the owner and manager of Sweet Wind Kennel. Our family business began over 35 years ago, when I decided to combine my love for animals with a desire to make a living in the beautiful region of Angora, MN. Along with my two wonderful sisters, Sweet Wind Kennel came into being as the only dog boarding kennel within reasonable driving distance of Cook, MN.

Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working with and training dogs of different breeds. I worked as a Veterinary Technician for 14 years, experience that I am grateful for when working with dogs on a regular basis. I combine this veterinary training and background now with the application of Essential Oils and massage therapy to keep our dogs in good health.

As an avid sled dog racer, I have raised and trained the Alaskan Husky sled dog since I was a little girl. I have placed many times in different races across the nation, but my favorite accomplishments consist of the multiple "Best Cared For Team" and "Sportsmanship" awards for our kennel.
