At Columbia Canine Cottage, we're dedicated to providing a unique bed and breakfast experience for your beloved pet. Our facility is designed to offer a family-style boarding environment, where your dog can feel comfortable and relaxed in our home-like setting. We're proud to be the Portland Metropolitan Area's premier boarding facility, and we strive to cater to the specific needs and personalities of each dog that stays with us.

Our history dates back to 2009, when we first started providing boarding services in our own home. We quickly realized that dogs thrived in an open and social environment, where they could interact with each other and enjoy plenty of space to play and relax. As our business grew, we moved to a larger property in Kalama, WA, where we now operate from a 1500 sqft barn that has been converted into a comfortable and welcoming space for dogs.

Our team is led by Kurt and Dew Parsons, who manage the business and customer contact, while our Lead Caretaker and Facilities Manager, Todd, oversees the day-to-day care of the dogs. We're passionate about providing an anxiety-free boarding option, and we work hard to ensure that every dog feels safe and happy during their stay with us.

Our Facilities

Our facilities are designed with your dog's comfort and well-being in mind. We have a spacious outdoor play area with real grass, where dogs can run and play to their hearts' content. Inside, our home-like environment features comfortable beds and couches for lounging around, as well as plenty of space for socialization and playtime.

We believe that dogs should be allowed to live as one pack, and we encourage open socialization among our guests. Dogs that are approved for full socialization will play and sleep together, without being kenneled unless absolutely necessary. Our overnight staff is always on hand to monitor the dogs and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the night.
